NSFW Lesbosexy Sunday Is A Spooning Switch

Welcome to NSFW Sunday!

+ Here is how to finger a vagina:

“An excellent way to begin manual stimulation is to stick one, and later two or more, finger(s) inside her, with your palm cupped over the mons area. We’re talking about that fleshy ‘mound’ over her pubic bone. Your finger should have freedom to move in and out freely while the palm of your hand can add pressure against her vulva and clitoris. Once you get better, you can start moving your palm to add more stimulation.”

+ Kate Anderson, winner of the fifth annual National Air Sex Championships, spoke to Nerve about the competition:

“Air Sex is one part performance art, one part comedy. It’s performance art of sex. It’s a competition where a performer mimes having sex with an imaginary partner or object – and “partner” is a very open word, just so we’re clear. There are way more than human beings that people have sex with in these things. You’re judged on your commitment to your piece, and your creativity in the performance, both in terms of how you present it to the audience, but also how you please your imaginary lover and how you finish. It’s really key to not back down on the literal climax of your performance. The audience are such voyeurs — we’re all such voyeurs. That’s what they came to see, so don’t you dare back down. The only rules are that you can’t get naked, and you can’t have a real orgasm.”

+ Smut Peddler, a comics anthology of woman-centric smut, looks like it’s going to be really good.

+ At Oh Joy Sex Toy, Erika Moen discusses how to start using sex toys in your relationship.

Australians have sex the longest, taking 4:02 minutes per encounter, according to a survey by Spreadsheets. Americans place second, with 3:45 minutes, and Canadians placed third, with 3:41 minutes. The Daily Dot does not specify the demographics surveyed, but I would bet money there weren’t a lot of queer people involved.

+ Ms. Naughty has posted her introduction to a feminist porn panel from the Feminist Porn Conference. In it, she discusses what feminist porn is, the relationship between porn and feminism, “porn for women” and more:

“The other question we often see posed is: “What is feminism doing getting into bed with porn?” Feminism has become so associated with an opposition to porn that some have a hard time coping with the concept of feminist porn. But the truth is there is a long history of sex-positive feminism – including the work of people like Susie Bright, Annie Sprinkle, Betty Dodson and Carol Queen – and what we’re doing at this conference is just the latest extension of that. The Dworkins and the Dines have managed to get more of the attention because an anti-sex anti-porn message is considered to be more worthy and moral… but we don’t agree with that. Freeing sex and sexuality from the partriarchy doesn’t necessarily mean that you cannot depict it in media. Indeed, porn can be a means of liberation and positive re-enforcement, just as it can also be degrading or negative.

And yes, part of feminist porn is the acknowledgement that there’s a lot of sexist, racist, badly made porn out there. We know that there are problems with it. But the difference is that sex positive feminists don’t want to ban porn, they just want to make it better.”

+ Nerve has collected what it’s like to have sex on drugs like pot, ecstasy, cocaine and more.

+ You can make balloon animals that look like genitalia.

+ Finland’s new stamps are really gay (and also kinky).

+ You can start figuring out your sexuality and whatever that looks like to you at any time. Even at age 70. (Also, it’s okay to take notes on porn if you need to.)

+ If you feel like wearing makeup during sex, some approaches (sweat-proof brands, setting sprays, minimalism) are better than others.

+ Everyone is having sex in restaurant bathrooms these days.

+ Louisiana has yet to repeal a law that bans oral sex as well as gay sex of any kind:

“The Louisiana House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly — 27–67 — to retain a law banning “crimes against nature,” including oral sex and all forms of same-sex sexual contact. The law has been unenforceable for over ten years, since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Lawrence v. Texas that laws criminalizing consensual private sexual behavior are unconstitutional. The 67 lawmakers who opposed the repeal thus violated their oath of office, in which they swore to support the Constitution of the United States.”

+ Biology, culture, climate and geography combine to make warmer temperatures feel sexier than colder ones, at least in our heads:

“According to 2012 research by Matthew Vess of Ohio University on embodied cognition—that the nature of the human mind is largely shaped by the sensory experiences of the body—human beings are disposed to associate temperature with their emotional perceptions of other people and their relationships in an ‘unconscious mingling of the personal and the thermal,’ as Kai MacDonald of Scientific American summarized. Since the concept of warmth is generally associated with intimacy (and ‘passion,’ as Adam Ferguson would say), even moderate heat, after months of cold, is enough to induce people to be more friendly, outgoing, and social—a change in behavior that could lead to, as Slate’s J Bryan Lowder put it, ‘all kinds of other connections.'”

+ Couples’ sleeping positions can indicate relationship satisfaction:

“Researchers from the University of Hertfordshire surveyed 1,000 people and found that couples who maintained physical contact while they slept were more likely to report being happy in their relationship. An overwhelming 94% of couples who touch while sleeping said they were happy, while only 68% of couples who didn’t touch while snoozing expressed being satisfied with their relationship.

Not only that, physical distance while sleeping seemed to translate into emotional distance. Of the 12% of couples who slept with less than an inch separation from their partner, 86% of them said they were happy. For couples who slept more than 30 inches apart (a mere 2%), only 66% said they were happy.”

  1. Ahahahahaha, sex that only lasts 4 minutes!? Why even bother!

In other semi-related news, I almost had my first bathroom tryst yesterday night, but I got clam dammed by the long line to get in said bathroom. This is legit the worst part about going to lesbian events – the struggle is so very real.

  2. J Bryan Lowder and I have the same brain sometimes. Sweat-proof make-up is relevant to my interests.

  3. Nice pics this week! (And every week, who an I kidding?)

But wow, that fingerblasting article is not good.
To each their own but some of the suggestions on there sound terrible!

  4. About the article about sex that lasts 4 minutes…

I know they’re referring to PIV sex and the duration of time in which the P is in the V, but I still wholeheartedly believe that 4 minutes is pathetic. Aside from the fact that sex shouldn’t be defined without any reference for any other act or any queer or kinky sex included, my girlfriend was once inside of me–just inside me–for an hour.

We were reading this article and she was just saying ‘you HAVE to comment on this’ XD

  5. “For couples who slept more than 30 inches apart (a mere 2%), only 66% said they were happy.”

Guess I’m one of the 66%. :P I love cuddling and spooning and I tend to spoon my lovers until they fall asleep… but I just CAN’T fall asleep without sprawling out in all directions. Too warm and sweaty for me to sleep otherwise.

  6. ummm… 4 minutes? wut.
My girlfriend and I are in a no-sex funk these days that is making me insane because we have a hard time having sex for less than a few hours. Sometimes there just is not time for that! Seriously, it is a problem. We need to learn how to have quickies… is this what everyone else is doing all the time? Is this how people have so much sex? I seriously do not understand this 4 minutes stuff.

  7. People finish sex in 4 minutes? I have sex for an hour and am disappointed that I’ve finished. Who are these people? Why do they not want to sex longer? How do people climax in 4 minutes? Is this real life? Am I doing it wrong?!?!?!

    • I think the point is the girl probably isn’t climaxing. At least that was the case when I found myself sleeping with men.
