Yeah, I couldn’t see the speakers very well either. I mostly just watched the sign language interpreter, which I’m glad they had but didn’t help me much.

I’ll admit to that. I left after about 2/3s of the speakers (saw Lady Gaga, tho!) because my girlfriend and I were starving. We’d had a late breakfast around 9:30-10, but the speakers just seemed to keep going forever. After a while, they were all sounding alike, too.

Katrina’s reference to the speakers list “often seemed more a chance for face time or an audition process for America’s Next Top Civil Rights Leader” was completely spot-on to how we felt. Probably the best commentary on them that I’ve seen on the web or the news thus far. I mean, they were mostly really good, but there’s only so much you can take…

I really think this had more to do with the lack of food and water than anything. That might sound retarded, but it was late afternoon, you figure most people ate breakfast then went to the march at noon … by 4pm, anyone who hadn’t brought their own snacks (as I noticed many people did, actually) was starving and there was nary a hot-dog in sight.

We saw a truck decked out in anti-gay slogans. It was kind of pathetic because it was all alone in a sea of rainbow flags.
