My best summer ever was this year’s, for three months I didn’t hardly anything besides read Baldwin and create art. His characters and plots are so amazing they just consume you until you’ve read all of it, and you still want to more. But a great author knows how to finish making the reader want more but satisfied with what they get.

if you love weird authors and want more female weird authors i HIGHLY recommend karen russell. she wrote “st lucy’s home for girls raised by wolves” and “swamplandia” and she’s george saunders-esque but somehow more emotional? you’ll love her.

and girl, Of Love and Other Demons is my favorite as well. It’s one of the few books that I consistently re-read. Also, it’s a book that I use as a guide if my day needs sorting. Flip it open, read where my eyes land and i’m ready to go.
