About Me

About Me

I’m just your typical awkward lesbian nerd. Whatever time I have left over from studying materials and physical chemistry at Queen’s is spent playing video games (lots of Zelda but I have spent a truly obscene amount of hours enjoying Mass Effect and Skyrim lesbian relationships) and furiously shipping my favourite tv characters (series 6 of Doctor Who threw a serious wrench in that one however). Most nights I can be found desperately clutching whiskey/beer/gin with a group of my similarly overwhelmed friends in attempts to drown the sorrows arising from a woefully incomplete to-do list.

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because all the elements- the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life-weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnace of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So forget God. The stars died so that you could be here today
