When my roommate decided to do some sort of agnostic faux-Lent ritual by giving up gluten for a month, she gifted me with an unopened box of Kashi Heart to Heart (the warm cinnamon flavor) that she realized she […]

I usually end up talking about food politics and fair trade, because it is hard to not think about that while drinking coffee. Of course, I also often start talking about absolutely whatever is floating around in […]

Also notable about the Commercial Drive area: They have a sex toy store called Womyn’s Ware, whose logo is a doodle of a curvy dancing woman with armpit hair. All the ladies working there when I went in had […]

My ex hated Harry Potter. We were together for over three years. When I told my current partner this, their reaction was “How did you manage to stay with this person?” I’m not really sure anymore.

Yeah, it’s hard to find time for bondage sometimes, especially within my college schedule. Personally, I consider it a good motivator for getting all my homework done early.

I am totally showing/reading this poem to my lover in the hopes of reducing boob-selfconsciousness and increasing giggling and blushing.

I was surprised by how relatively few poly people there are, but I think that’s because poly people seem to gravitate towards me at college, or else I gravitate towards them… not entirely sure which, but I like […]

Things people have assumed I am attracted to when I say I am pansexual:
Pots and pans (and I think maybe kitchenware in general, based on their phrasing)
Pan the nature god
Peter Pan
Pandas
I still am a big […]

Excellent “But I’m a Cheerleader” reference. Both my parents cook, which I guess explains my pansexuality. (And my cooking skills, probably.)

My mom’s mom is Granny and my mom’s stepmom is Nana B, because her first name is Bonnie and a lot of us grandkids had trouble saying that when we were little.
Dad’s mom was called Nona even though we’re not […]

Slices of Gravenstein apple, sharp cheddar and hot buttered toast with homemade soup are pretty much what I live on in winter. Fruit plus cheese is the best.

I’m a freshman at Pomona, and so far I adore it. I got asked my preferred gender pronouns for the first time ever the other day, and I just filled out my QQAMP mentee application. I’ll probably apply for a job at the QRC or the Women’s Union (which welcomes all genders) pretty soon. If [...]

It’s okay, I wasn’t trying to diss you for any lack of clarity, I just wanted to make sure I was giving you an answer actually related to what you’d asked.
And I know what you mean about getting used to being around understanding people – sometimes I use a word like “cisgender” in conversation and am honestly puzzled by the blank looks I get…[Read more]

The closest thing I have to a pool sex story: Once my best friend’s rich cousins were in town and staying at the Hilton. They brought us over to hang out there on very short notice, so we didn’t have suits and both ended going swimming in the Hilton pool our underwear. My best friend [...]

I agree with you, though I’m not clear if you’re talking about the distinction between sex and gender identity (how you think of yourself/how you define your gender) or between sex and gender expression (how you dress/present yourself publicly). You’re still right in either case, though, neither condition is automatically tied to sex. If the…[Read more]

Hell yes to this comment. As a pansexual, the idea that dating someone of any particular gender automatically means I have a gender preference makes me feel very uncomfortable and somewhat identity-erased. I don’t like people because of their gender, I like them based on their overall personalities. P.S., thanks for noting the existence of [...]
