League of Ladies: The Feminist Superheroine Underwear You’ve Been Missing

Dear Kate is a kick-ass company makin’ high tech underwear that negates the need for “period panties.” Stain releasing, wicking and leak-resistant, each pair is crafted in NYC and made with you in mind. So, what’s the next step when you’ve created a wicked pair of knickers? Superheroine underwear, obviously! In comes the limited edition League of Ladies + Dear Kate collection!

The League of Ladies was “born from a dissatisfaction of the portrayal of female superheroes and disempowering slogans on contemporary underwear.” The lookbook celebrates four historical heroines, including Frida Khalo and Harriet Tubman modelled by “real-life superheros” who embody and reflect the traits of the superheroines they are wearing. The models were selected because they are ambitious and inspiring as their historical counterparts. “Each model for the collection is aspirational because of what she does, not only how she looks, and we think that’s pretty super.” How wouldn’t want functional, aesthetically pleasing underwear with a side of badassery?

You can see the entire collection here!

  1. That is some amazing underwear with some amazing looking women. I wonder if they have some in longer sizes.

  2. Those are badass!!! But $44 is too much badass for my bank account right now. Dear Kate is a kick ass company!

  3. I can also totally recommend “Pants to Poverty” http://www.pantstopoverty.com/ .They’re not queer, but nerdily enthusiastic fair.

That said, the picture with the poker cards is going to Mount Olympus for favorite underwear pics of all time.
Also, I might actually invest in a couple of Dear Kates..white work wear.

  4. I have low expectations and was going to say something nihilistic and supervillainy – but, hell, finally some heroines i can actually get behind. Win <3
