Jess’s Team Pick: AudioMole NYC

While wandering the streets of any city you are likely to encounter street musicians – unknown singers, guitarists, jazz musicians who catch your ear. Sometimes these performers claim real estate (street, subway, corner) but often they are wandering artists, difficult to track and find again.  Enter AudioMole NYC: an underground NYC tracking website for underground businesses, artists, and performers.

Here’s how it works:
If you’re an up-and-coming visual artist, musician, performer, or vendor, you can make a profile featuring images, videos and sound clips. The bread and butter of your profile is to list where you will be when you are out and about, so fans can easily find you.

If you’re a regular Joe Schmoe, you can search for music, performances or goods that interest you by date, location, genre, time of day, neighborhood, etc.

So, the next time you hear that awesome Beatles cover in Central Park, head to AudioMole and track that shit down. If you’re in the New York City area, the site is having its launch party Friday, Oct 15 at Sullivan Hall featuring a Battle of the Bands contest.
