As stated, the first track certainly sets the tone for the album; almost in a story-like fashion. I saw them live in Austin at a small bar and she totally rocked out–sweat dripping, mascara running, sweaty armpits. I loved it. I wouldn’t imagine a fat girl jumping all over the place but she was totally feelin the crowd. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. If you haven’t already purchased it… get it NOW.

Music for Men is /amazing/. It makes me dance in my car. This is the first of their albums that I’ve heard and I love love love em.

This album is just another example of how awesome the Gossip are! 2012, Love Long Distance and Men In Love are my top three. There’s not one song I skip over on this album which is rare. If you think this album is fun to listen to; try seeing them live! It’s a must, and Beth, Hannah and Brace will have you dancing your ass off.

My English 101 professor was this edgy, dreadlocked feminist whose tank-tops showed off the badass spider tattoo on her shoulder while also proudly revealing her unshaven armpits… Where was I going with this? Right, Wal-Mart. She made us read 2 dozen articles about Wal-Mart and respond with critical essays — but you can bet if your opinion wasn’t “Wal-Mart is Evil”, you’d flunk. Which, OK, Wal-Mart is evil, but it’s still a dubious basis for an entire English curriculum. It was my very first college class and she terrified me. I got an A. The End.

I LOVE the Gossip. My best friend is from Arkansas, and clings dearly to Beth Ditto being from there too. She’s almost awesome enough to cancel out Wal-Mart.

The other day I was in a taxi and the driver, who was maybe in his 60s or 70s, started talking my ear off about how much he loved the Gossip and that Beth Ditto was his hero. It warmed my heart, seeing Beth Ditto and this band appeal to so many different people. Ace review!

they’re not really my thing but the latest single “Heavy Cross” has been following me around everywhere the last few weeks and i have to admit it’s really catchy, so i might check out the entire record. i heard they’re good live too.

I thought L was for the way you look at me. JK! I haven’t heard this album nor do I listen to the Gossip but I hear about Beth Ditto a lot, so nice review. I’m curious to hear the acrostic poem song.

When this record came out, I thought I was ‘sooo over’ the Gossip. But after hearing this album I was instantly hooked again. It’s clear to me that the Gossip can do no wrong. Such an incredible album! They still got it! Stand out tracks for me include: Men in Love, 2012, Dimestore Diamond and Four Letter Word.
