Woah. This actually takes place in my home diocese, and I also went to Catholic school for 13 years (though not at Prince of Peace). The Diocese of Davenport was the fourth in the country to file for bankruptcy, mainly because of sex abuse claims. Clearly this diocese has major issues, and it makes me so angry that this kid has to go through this bullshit.

I’m always amazed by how ruthlessly the Catholic higher-ups pounce on anyone who does not “follow the rules,” even when so many Catholic laypeople are supportive and accepting.

It’s really encouraging to hear that Fuller was supported by his school officials, though.
