I love everything about smokin' hot and talented Aussie popstar Natalie Bassingthwaighte - from her time as Izzy on Neighbours and in the Rogue Traders, to her adorably awkward hosting on So You Think You Can Dance. I didn't think it were possible, but this week she's gone and one-upped herself in the awesome stakes.
The Bass - who now enjoys a successful solo career - is about to release a new single called "Love Like This" and all profits from its sale will go to the ongoing support of the LGBT community. The single will be available digitally on Jan 29 from iTunes, Bandit and all good digital outlets.
This move celebrates the upcoming 'Wear it with Pride' campaign, of which The Bass is an ambassador. It commemorates that ground-breaking time in 2009 when the Australian Federal Government finally amended 85 pieces of legislation that discriminated against same-sex couples. Other 'Wear it with Pride' campaign ambassadors include Ruby Rose, Jess and Lisa from the Veronicas, and 81 other influential members and supporters of the Australian LGBT community.
So! If you live in Australia then I hope you will buy the "Love Like This" single on Friday - no matter whether you're a fan of The Bass, or just a fan of having the same rights as everyone else.
