Brittani’s Video Party: The Return of Television

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

If you haven’t heard, television is looking a lot less gay and a lot less good. Lucky for us, there were a number of cute or gay or exciting things that happened in regard to tv here on the internet, our home and native land. First and first mostly, DeAnne Smith was on The Late Late Show which is a very very big deal. She was wearing a blazer, a bow tie, and an alternative lifestyle haircut which in my opinion enhances every joke along with the visual experience.

Arrested Development is almost back (May 26th!). That means more never nudes, more chicken dance, more illusions, more cousins, and more Portia de Rossi. They released a trailer for the new season which is a tall order since Arrested Development isn’t really a punchline show. If you’re not already into the show, then the trailer is just a series of confusing events, which was part of their problem to begin with. But if you’re already on the bandwagon, the trailer will make you blue yourself.

The trailer for Brooklyn Nine-Nine dropped the same day as Arrested Development‘s but made me equally excited. I have to admit, as great as Andy Samberg is, he’s not someone I would get excited about a show for. BUT CHELSEA PERETTI IS. I know this trailer isn’t amazing but keep in mind, it’s from Mike Schur and Dan Goor of Parks and Rec. This show might not fill the 30 Rock-sized hole we’ll have in our chests but it’s still something to look forward to. Also, there seem to be plenty of tough lady cops which is appealing on several levels.

Everyone who think they’re in the running for the Cutest Couple on Earth Award (given away at the annual Perfect Person Gala), you’ve got some stiff comp. Watch what happens when a guy is minding his own business, pumping a little gas, and singing a tune when the television at the pump station starts talking to him. Adorableness. That’s what. Sidenote: I’m always into black people singing classic rock.
