Brittani’s Video Party: It’s Not Too Late to be Too Late for Christmas

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

Last week you all had a lot of feelings about the Sisters video. So much so that someone recommended a similar video. New Animal’s Falling Up is like an ethereal polaroid about lady dramz.

New Animal – Falling Up from Bright Elephant Films on Vimeo.

This was the week of recommendations. The next two you all felt pretty strongly about as well. Before it’s too late/it might already be too late, have a listen to this transinclusive Christmas carol. There are more gay-themed holiday songs attached to this youtube account you might want to check out.

Christmas might be over but family time probably isn’t quite yet. If you haven’t come out yet, now is the time to consider. Because now you can do it with George Takei (pew pew pew). I bet your parents love Star Trek.

After you’ve gotten your heart broken watching the Falling Up video, sung your new favorite rendition of Christmas tunes to cheer yourself up and then come out with the help of celebrities (for a nominal fee), you probably need some alone time. Hey, remember Teresa? Tuck yourself away in your childhood bedroom and listen to women read a page or two from their favorite book before they’re ummm, distracted from the task at hand. You’ll need headphones for Hysterical Literature. (Video is NSFW, but you’re not at work, are you?)

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

  1. One of my favorite things about Christmas is the number of old carols that want everyone to be gay. “Deck the Halls” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” to name a few…

  2. I have no regrets about the amount of time I just spent watching everything under the “Brittani’s video party” tag.

  3. Oh my gosh! Thank you for posting my Dyke the Halls video! On my channel you’ll find other Queersmas carols like this on, Joy to the World, the second verse of which is about trans people! Enjoy, and thank you again!

  4. I can’t stop watching that New Animal video. It makes me so sad but it’s so beautiful and the song is lovely.

  5. “I bet your parents love Star Trek.”

Aww it’s kind of adorable that Autostraddle would try to pretend that a large percentage of its readership isn’t EXACTLY the kind of people who love Star Trek. WE ARE NERDS AND WE DON’T CARE.
