Two girls tried to commune with the spirits. You’ll never guess what happened next. (This is a comedy sketch, don’t be scared.)

Girl Rising is about nine young women paired with accomplished writers from their native countries in an effort to tell their stories and progress the global movement for girls’ education. The documentary is directed by Academy Award-nominated Richard E. Robbins and includes narration from the likes of Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Alicia Keys, Meryl Streep and Kerry Washington.

Gold Stars is a webseries written, directed by, and starring Lane Moore (The Onion, Jezebel, McSweeney’s) who plays Cassie. It also features Molly Knefel (30 Rock, Melissa Harris-Perry) and Katie Compa. After Cassie quits her job in solidarity with Anna, a coworker she never spoke to, they both decide to move in together and become freelancers, taking on crazy, creepy, and sometimes dangerous Craigslist jobs. You can find more episodes on the Gold Stars YouTube page and keep up with other happenings on Twitter.

Elle released some behind-the-scenes interviews and footage from the Orange is the New Black photo shoot. They all continue to be charming and perfect.

Brittani Nichols is a Los Angeles based comedy person. When she's not tweeting about white people or watching television, she's probably eating pizza. Actually, she's probably doing all three of those things concurrently and when she's not doing THAT, she's sleeping. Brittani also went to Yale and feels weird about mentioning it but wants you to know.

  1. Samira Wiley. I am dead.

Also, they are all such babes. And interesting. And I love getting any kind of inside scoop. It sounds like a rad place to hang out and make awesome tv.

Actually, I find Taylor Schilling a little less interesting, and a little bit… boring? Is it just me?

    • “Samira Wiley. I am dead.”

I feel like this every time I see her face. Or hear her name.

I still haven’t recovered from that Samira Wiley post a few months back. You know the one.

    • I agree about Taylor Schilling but I think it’s mostly because I find Piper boring. I think? Like, I can’t separate the two in my head, even when Piper Kerman came to my town last week and I met her (only went ’cause it was free. Still dislike her.)
Also, she’s not nearly as dark and sexy to me as Hot Donna is as Alex, so, ya know. Or as fantastic as Taystee. Or rad as Red. Etc etc etc.

  2. Awwww I love seeing behind the scenes of OITNB things. I know it’s Elle, but it’s a shame they only included the actresses that present more feminine. Would have been cool to see Lea Delaria all dapper. Plus, she always has something funny to say! haha
