Brittani’s Video Party: Beyoncé Spoofs Homeland While Lizzy Caplan Frolics

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

If for some reason you missed Beyonce Bowl, you can now watch the entire halftime show online. Or if you just want to watch it over and over again because it’s the best thing you’ve ever seen, that’s ok too. Since learning the performance was foureen minutes long, I’m confident that I’ll never drown because I now know I can not take a breath for thirteen minutes.

Lizzy Caplan is the best thing to happen to this week. As if she doesn’t already have the perfect resume (Mean Girls, Party Down, Freaks and Geeks, New Girl), she now has fake annoying indie girl to add. The short, Fashion Film, has a lot of Lizzy rolling around in grass, cutting things out of magazines and being very attractive all while a meta voiceover plays on. I don’t know, it’s perfect, leave me alone.

I never thought I’d be afraid to play a two-year old in H-O-R-S-E but little Titus has changed my mind about that. Between his eighteenth and twenty fourth months, the toddler hit an impressive amount of trick shots and became scarily accurate on hoops up to 7 feet tall. Most kids that age can’t even get the ball to go 7 feet in the air without running the risk of having the ball come straight down on their heads. I was skeptical at first but the shots are honestly very impressive. I know better than to equate this feat with any future success in the sport of basketball but I’ll refrain from crushing the spirits of white Americans praying this kid will be the next Larry Bird.

Homeland has been racking up the awards the past two seasons and for good reason. Thank Saul Berenson that hasn’t stopped people from imitating the characters’ quirks and go-to expressions. Daily Grace nailed the impersonations all on her own but this spoof with a full cast really gets me. What happens when Dana is asked to pass the salt?

The quickest way to make a touching video is to have people holding up signs while looking cute and personally moved. The Place of Modesto, California has once again proved that this formula is true. In this one, LGBTQ youth, allies and their families share what The Place means to them and how it’s helped them form their own identities outside of stereotypes.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

  1. Omfg Lizzie. The only thing to make this better is to pretend that it’s actually . Because you know that’s what Stef does when no one’s around.

  2. A most excellent, faultless video party. Lizzy Caplan is a dream boat. That baby kind of freaks me out a little.
