Brittani’s Video Party: A Hot Year with a Bear and Crotch Sweat

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

English girl band M.O has a video for their single, “Hot.” They invited 100 dancers to, you know, dance. The video is fun and TLC-ish? I only say that because of their clothes. Still, I enjoy any song whose lyrics (and members) give me an excuse to fan myself.

Allison Hefner is a queer filmmaker that recently released what had to be an extremely challenging project. She filmed a video from her life every day for an entire year and then edited it into a neat little package. I’d love to do something like this myself one day but first I think I need to go an entire year without falling asleep in my contacts. You don’t need to know her to feel the joy, pain, panic, and triumph she manages to captures with just a few seconds from each day. Also, there’s a Julie Goldman cameo if you watch close enough.

Do you know what to do if you spot a bear? This NBC field reporter thinks she can help. I, however, would not recommend you mimic anything she does in this video unless your safety plan is centered around confusing the bear into a gentle lull.

Apparently the horrible people in charge of feminine hygiene products have decided that lady bits should be sweat-free zones. I wasn’t aware that people perspired enough to soak through bottoms but then again, I don’t really wear tight shorts or yoga pants and this might be more of a threat if the fabric is clutching your crotchal region. I’m just saying, I sweat plenty and at no point have I ever considered locking that area down with something absorbent. Australian comedian Sammy J. points out the hypocrisy of a company that says, “It’s time we all stopped being shy about vaginas” but then goes on to body shame you into buying a product.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

Brittani Nichols is a Los Angeles based comedy person. When she's not tweeting about white people or watching television, she's probably eating pizza. Actually, she's probably doing all three of those things concurrently and when she's not doing THAT, she's sleeping. Brittani also went to Yale and feels weird about mentioning it but wants you to know.

  1. That M.O video makes me want to wear all the jerseys from all the sports. With all the gold jewelery.

  2. Allison Hefner for the win! I very rarely make it through videos past 2 minutes, but I watched all eleven and a half minutes of that girl’s seemingly EXCITING year. Very very well done and it passes my social media induced ADD test!

  3. The Crotch Song is super catchy and his delivery is so funny. I got a little bit giddy when I saw M.O wearing sports jerseys.

  4. I’ve watched a few of those picture/video every day for a year videos, and all they do for me is make me sad that my life isn’t as exciting or event filled as theirs are.

  5. I love the video every day things, I started one on the 1st of January this year – now I think I need to make the rest of my year more exciting haha. Also, that reporter looks so so stupid.

  6. The “funny cats in water” video that appeared as a recommended video after the bear video was quite adorable.
