Big Primpin’: Faux Fur Toppers To Keep You Warm and Fabulous

Big, dramatic and hella fun, faux fur jackets are undeniably the party topper of 2015. The politics of being a fur-wearer are murky at best, so why not cozy up to something equally warm but 100% cruelty free? Some might say that faux fur gets a little… flamboyant but I say f**k the haters. Faux fuzzies always feel opulent, fun and ready for whatever comes your way. Wearing a tee and jeans? Throw on a shaggy overcoat and feel fresh to death. Headed out in a party dress? A bright and textured fur coat elevates the outfit to another level. A plethora of fabulously dressed folks know the merits of a great faux fur; with a shaggy coat, you’ll be in excellent company.

Get You Some

It’s only right that you get some furry teddy coats for yourself, and there is a smorgasbord of lovely ones. Whether you are looking for a classic leopard print or something a little more avant guard, we’ve got you!

I’m thinkin’ of snapping up a bright and color blocked faux fur jacket; how would you do a big, fluffy coat?

  1. 10 bucks say that once “Carol” has had its wide release (and winter has really hit) faux fur coats will be the new leather jacket for the Lesbian wardrobe.

      • Adding a motivational girdle to my shopping list as we speak.
P.S.:Anybody got any advice on where to find Therese’s coat? I’m more the flung from outer space type myself.

  2. My cousin used to work in Sears. MORE THAN ONCE someone came in asking for “fox fur.” He was like, this is Sears, there is no fox fur here. Finally, after much back and forth, he would realize they were mispronouncing “faux.”

    • That reminds me of a Suite Life of Zack and Cody episode where London keeps saying that she is wearing “fox” fur, so she gives CPR to a Chinchilla to make everyone think she is good to animals. In the end “fox” was actually “faux”. Just needed to drop that information here.

  3. Super here for this (but you already knew that)!

Although I cannot recommend lighting sparklers in the vicinity of a shaggy fur coat. I lost a vintage leopard print beauty (and a good fistful of hair) that way one NYE. Haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement for the former since!

  4. YAAAAAAAS. Be warned though- if you wear giant fluffy coats then strangers will stroke you. In my experience.

    • As a fellow fluffy coat lover, I agree. Being petted by strangers seems to come with the territory of looking incredible awesome.

  5. I will never have a coat as good as the one I had in sixth grade from Limited Too — black velveteen with a giant faux fur hook.

  6. I really like long furry coats, but I’m on the petite side, and they totally swallow me right up! And shorter ones just make me look really bulky on top. :(
