I've seen lots, LOTS, of lesbian-themed films with actresses of all stripes. Watching AS, I finally felt like all of the components of a complete lesbian "heroine" came together. AS has an earthy charm that makes her very believable as well as very desirable. Her scenes, of course, are the best in the film and the writers/directors deserve credit for giving her so much to play with. When Lola isn't on screen, the film flounders. The bar scenes, for me, were a problem (budget problems, I assume) and I failed to see any chemistry between JB and CD. Too bad, because I admire those two a lot.
